The General Administration of Passports, Immigration and Nationality publishes the fees below for applications in Egypt. Its page did not show an issue date, so each amount is dated to our check on 19 October 2026 1.

Standard and replacement fees
The EGP 705 amount is the Interior Ministry's charge for issuing the machine-readable passport. The EGP 1,155 amount applies to a request replacing a passport that was lost or damaged 1.
The official page does not list a separate renewal fee or a lower child fee 1. It states that each machine-readable passport belongs to one person and that a spouse or child cannot be added to it 1.
Urgent and premium options
The optional urgent service costs EGP 100 and provides collection on the next working day. It is available at the main administration, passport departments nationwide, shopping-centre passport offices and mobile units, subject to the location rules on the ministry page 1.
The optional premium service costs EGP 500 and provides collection on the day of application. The ministry lists it at the main administration, passport offices in shopping centres and mobile units 1. These are service charges added to the relevant passport fee 1.
Validity and documents
The Interior Ministry says the machine-readable passport is valid for 7 years. Its details cannot be changed or expanded after issue 1.
Applicants aged 15 or older provide a valid national identity card. Applicants below 15 use a computerised birth certificate. The ministry asks students for current proof of enrolment and asks for 3 recent colour photographs measuring 4 by 6 centimetres with a white background 2.
Applicants present original documents plus copies for comparison by the officer. Male applicants can need a military-status document under the rules stated by the ministry 2.
Where to apply
The General Administration and its geographical branches issue passports to citizens in Egypt. Citizens outside Egypt apply for issue or renewal through an Egyptian consulate 1. Fees abroad are set by the mission, so this page does not apply the domestic EGP amounts to an overseas application.
The free machine-readable form is called Form 29. The applicant completes its first page and submits the required records at the responsible passport office 1.
